Overshadowed by the fervor surrounding Downtown and other massive projects such as Downtown Summerlin and the Gramercy, the District at Green Valley Ranch has been quietly gearing up for exciting changes of its own. Due & Proper, a new London-style pub, and Whist Stove & Spirits, a small-plates and cocktails concept, will open this fall in the former Al’s Garage and Presidio spaces, respectively.
Whist will be Henderson’s answer to a contemporary, neighborhood restaurant as well as a hangout for friends that are close to home. The 3,000-square-foot lounge, restaurant and bar will offer craft cocktails and classic American fare 24 hours a day in a laid-back setting featuring mismatched wooden furniture, crystal chandeliers and an indoor/outdoor patio.
Due & Proper pub will bind elements of the U.K. and the East Coast’s Irish immigrant history into a 2,500-square-foot restaurant, bar and patio that might have been plucked out of London or Boston. Food will be beer-friendly (think fish and chips, bangers and mash and hot pretzels). And if the pub’s name sounds a touch familiar, that’s because it comes from a line in the film Gangs of New York, a favorite of the owners.
